Stranger Things Game, Netflix Intends To Keep The Project Going Despite Telltale’s Fall

This weekend, we learned of the sudden closure of Telltale Games, leaving 250 people out of job and, presumably, most of their current projects.

Among these, we find the adaptation of Stranger Things, which was announced just three months ago , at the E3 . However, Netflix seems determined to not give up on the idea of making its series into a game. Indeed, the platform of legal streaming declared with our colleagues of Polygon:

“We are saddened by news about Telltale Games,” Netflix said in a statement. “They developed many great games in the past and left an indelible mark in the industry. Minecraft: Story Mode is still moving forward as planned. We are in the process of evaluating other options for bringing the Stranger Things universe to life in an interactive medium.”

Now, it remains to be seen who Netflix will decide to work with, knowing that former employees of Telltale could very well come together to create several studios, or land in other structures focused on narrative productions.
