Little Nightmares 2 Co-Op Mode Will Not Happen After All

Little Nightmares 2 Co-Op Mode Will Not Happen After All

On the first day of Gamescom 2019, Tarsier Studios surprised us by unveiling the very first Little Nightmares 2 trailer. A first trailer that focuses on the cooperation between the heroine of the first episode and a brand new character, though, do not expect to browse the game with a friend. Little Nightmares 2, like the first episode, remains, and will remain a solo experience.

After viewing this trailer, players have been imagining traveling through the nightmarish world of Little Nightmares 2 as a pair, especially because many clues went in this direction, starting with this evocative title, where the “2” of Little Nightmares 2 seemed to point to the two characters: Six, the heroine of the first episode, as well as a brand new protagonist wandering about with a bag on his head. The latter will accompany the player in this descent into hell. Unfortunately for co-op lovers, this second character will only be controlled by the AI.

It is during an interview with Gaming Boulevard that the Tarsier Studios’ developers have confirmed that Little Nightmares 2 will be “a solo gaming experience”. The studio also said that they looked at the question of a two-player mode by incorporating this duo in the second episode, but that this new idea was simply “the wrong choice”.

As a reminder, Little Nightmares 2 is expected on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch for the 2020, without more precision.
