Last week, Nintendo informed us that by March 2019 we will be able to play the mobile version of another of its famous franchises: Mario Kart. A first piece of information falls on it, and it concerns its economic model.
As reported by Takashi Mochizuki of the Wall Street Journal, the partner studio DeNA, in charge of the development of Mario Kart Tour, is developing the game after a free-to-play model – or as the Kyoto firm prefers to clarify, a free-to-start. After testing a premium formula with Super Mario Run and a multitude of micro-transactions with Fire Emblem Heroes, Nintendo might opt for the second solution that has proven itself.
